‘The Forever Purge’: First Image and Plot Details for the Final Film in the ‘Purge’ Franchise

Originally set for theatrical release on July 10, 2020, The Forever Purge was eventually bumped to 2021, now currently planned to release in theaters on July 9th, 2021.

Sources recently told THR that the film “takes the Purge out of its usual metropolitan setting while still dealing with class and race issues in the way the previous films have,” and we’ve also been told that this is set to be the final movie in the franchise. The first official image from The Forever Purge was debuted by Total Film today, along with some fresh insights.

Total Film details, “The movie will take place after the events of Election Year and will centre on Adela (Ana de la Reguera) and Juan (Tenoch Huerta), who find solace at a Texan ranch, having fled a drug cartel in Mexico. Things go awry when a group of outsiders decide to keep purging beyond the allotted time when people can break any and all laws.”

Head over to Games Radar for more from Total Film’s interview with director Everardo Gout.

Leven Rambin, who starred in the second season of HBO’s “True Detective,” will star alongside Will Patton, Cassidy Freeman, Ana de la Reguera and Tenoch Huerta.

Franchise creator James DeMonaco wrote the new movie.
