CBS is taking you back to 1993, a year after the events of The Silence of the Lambs, with the brand new sequel series “Clarice”, which is headed to CBS and CBS All Access tomorrow.
To celebrate the occasion, the Oscar-winning The Silence of the Lambs is currently on sale for $7.99 in 4K UHD on both Vudu and Apple TV. Its 2001 sequel Hannibal is also on sale for $7.99, but unfortunately only in HD.
In the film, Jodie Foster plays an FBI trainee assigned by her superior to interview an imprisoned, cannibalistic psychopath, Hannibal “the Cannibal” Lecter (Anthony Hopkins), in the hope that he may help uncover the identity of an elusive serial killer.
The Silence of the Lambs is one of the rare occasions when the Academy didn’t ignore our genre, awarding the film five Oscars: “Best Picture”, “Best Actress in a Leading Role” (Foster), “Best Actor in a Leading Role” (Hopkins), “Best Director” (Jonathan Demme), and “Best Writing, Screenplay Based on Material Previously Produced or Published” (Ted Tally).
