Turtle Rock Studios took to Twitter to announce that their upcoming spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead will need more development time. Originally scheduled for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on June 22, Back 4 Blood will now be pushed to October 12, 2021.
The reasoning for the date shift is to make the title “the best game it can possibly be at launch”. While no doubt that fans were hoping to spend their summer blowing away zombies, the date change does make it more in line with Halloween, after all.
