The hierarchy of power in the DC Universe is about to change, teased Warner Bros. Pictures, who announced a new July 29, 2022, date for their highly anticipated adaptation of Black Adam.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson stars in the title role of a film being directed by Jaume Collet-Serra of horror fame Orphan and The Shallows.
The Invisible Man‘s Aldis Hodge costars as Hawkman, while Noah Centineo (who will also be starring as He-Man in Masters of the Universe) is playing Atom Smasher.
While plot details have yet to be revealed, it is known that Dr. Fate and Cyclone will also appear as members of the JSA.
“Black Adam is blessed by magic with the powers equal to Superman, but the difference is he doesn’t toe the mark or walk the line,” Johnson said back in 2019 about the character. “He’s a rebellious, one-of-a-kind superhero, who’ll always do what’s right for the people – but he does it his way. Truth and justice – the Black Adam way.”
