‘Fortnite’ Season 6 Opening Cinematic is All-Out War Featuring Terminators, Aliens and Predator! [Video]

The culmination of Fortnite‘s multi-franchise-swallowing Fifth Season sees Season 6 kick off with a star-studded opening cinematic.

Fortnite stalwart Jonesy (voiced by Troy Baker) is seen battling his way to the reality-warping Zero Point on the map in an attempt to fix things, but does so in the middle of a huge battle between a host of characters from Fortnite and many franchises beyond it.

He’s saved from a Xenomorph attack by Sarah Connor, who is then saved from those monsters and a small army of T-800s by Ellen Ripley driving a truck off a bridge (a la T2: Judgement Day).

The rest of the cinematic sees Meowscles (a cat with a humanoid bodybuilder physique) try to unsuccessfully take on the Predator; God of War‘s Kratos fights a Flapjack desperado (yes, really); Halo‘s Master Chief fighting side by side with an anthropomorphic fish; and Street Fighter‘s Ryu turns sentient banana Peely into mush with a Hadouken.

There’s more than an air of Ready Player One to this multi-franchise battle, but that didn’t have Ellen Ripley flattening Terminators with a truck so we have a clear winner here.

Season 6 introduces more licensed characters to the mix too, with Teen Titans‘ Raven and Tomb Raider‘s Lara Croft among the skins in this season’s Battle Pass. Elsewhere in the new season, there are wild wolves roaming areas of the map.
