‘Leap of Faith: William Friedkin on The Exorcist’ Dated For Home Video

After premiering on Shudder last November, RLJE Films has dated the documentary Leap of Faith: William Friedkin on The Exorcist (read our review) for VOD, Digital HD and Blu-ray on April 13, 2021.

In the doc directed by Alexandre O. Philippe (78/52, Memory: The Origins of Alien), “A lyrical and spiritual cinematic essay on The Exorcist, Leap of Faith explores the uncharted depths of William Friedkin’s mind’s eye, the nuances of his filmmaking process, and the mysteries of faith and fate that have shaped his life and filmography.”

iTunes bonus features include the 2020 BIFAN Masterclass with William Friedkin and Alexandre O. Philippe, and a conversation with William Friedkin and Alexandre O. Philippe at Denver Film 2020.

Meagan Navarro reviewed the film out of the Sundance premiere, writing, “ In the end, Leap of Faith feels more for audiences that favor philosophical and religious insights, or those that enjoy the movie but know nothing about the behind the scenes production. Those looking for details not yet uncovered, or for Friedkin to shed light on the juicier aspects of The Exorcist might find themselves bored. “
