Announced by Netflix today, the fight between Jaegers and Kaiju will continue in a second season of the animated series “Pacific Rim: The Black” (our review), and it’s coming soon!
Netflix teases, “It’s not over yet, there’s so much more to The Black…”
Here’s the full plot synopsis for the series, which premiered earlier this month.
“There was a time when Kaiju rose from the Pacific Rim only to encounter gigantic robots, Jaegers, built to fight them back. That time has passed. Now, Australia has been overrun by Kaiju, forcing the evacuation of an entire continent. Left behind, teenage siblings Taylor and Hayley embark on a desperate search for their missing parents, teaching themselves to pilot a battered, long-abandoned Jaeger to help in their quest and give them even the slightest hope of surviving.”
The 7 episode (30 mins each) “Pacific Rim: The Black” comes from Legendary Entertainment, and co-creators Craig Kyle (Thor: Ragnarok) and Greg Johnson (X-Men: Evolution).
The animation production studio is Polygon Pictures, known for the Netflix Original Anime Series Levius, the Ajin: Demi-Human series, and the Godzilla Netflix Anime Movie Trilogy.
