Wild New Clip from ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’ Plays Out in a Simulation of Skull Island [Video]

A brand new clip from Adam Wingard’s Godzilla vs. Kong has been unleashed ahead of the film’s arrival on HBO Max and in theaters on March 31, this one taking us back to Skull Island.

Or what *appears* to be Skull Island, at least…

The clip sees Kong interacting with a little girl named Jia who he seems to have a special connection with, but it soon becomes clear that the world around them is only a simulation. It would appear that Kong has already been “captured” by Monarch at this point, housed in a massive facility that’s made to look like Skull Island. The illusion is shattered by Kong himself.

Find the Cabin in the Woods-esque clip below.

In Godzilla vs. Kong

“Legends collide as these mythic adversaries meet in a spectacular battle for the ages, with the fate of the world hanging in the balance. Kong and his protectors undertake a perilous journey to find his true home, and with them is Jia, a young orphaned girl with whom he has formed a unique and powerful bond. But they unexpectedly find themselves in the path of an enraged Godzilla, cutting a swath of destruction across the globe. The epic clash between the two titans—instigated by unseen forces—is only the beginning of the mystery that lies deep within the core of the Earth.”

Godzilla vs. Kong is the fourth film in the MonsterVerse, which kicked off with Godzilla in 2014 and continued with Kong: Skull Island in 2017 and Godzilla: King of the Monsters in 2019.

Alexander Skarsgård, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Julian Dennison, Eiza Gonzalez, Demian Bichir, Shun Oguri, Kaylee Hottle, and Kyle Chandler star.
