For the past few years, WWE‘s Bray Wyatt has been possessed by “The Fiend”, a demonic entity that likes to play games, especially if you let him in.
The latest villain in a wave of iconic horror-inspired WWE superstars from the past like Undertaker and Kane, The Fiend has recently been feuding with Randy Orton, an interesting storyline considering both characters are heels. No matter, Orton seemingly won the war when he set The Fiend on fire last year, killing him dead smack in the middle of the ring.
Long story short, Alexa Bliss, the first of a hopeful Fiend stable, has been taunting the return of the demon for weeks. It would all come to a head at this past weekend’s Fastlane, the final PPV event leading up to this year’s Wrestlemania. In the middle of a match between Orton and Bliss, The Fiend was resurrected, climbing his way out of the hell’s fire and into the ring. Horror fans would immediately notice his burnt look seemingly called back to that of Jason Voorhees in later Friday the 13th sequels like The New Blood and Jason Goes to Hell.
It was revealed that the team behind Fiend’s new look was headed by none other than horror legend Tom Savini, the iconic effects artist behind the birth of Jason Voorhees! Savini more recently resurrected Jason for Friday the 13th: The Game, designing a version of “Hell Jason” that depicted the character as he might’ve looked in a proper Jason Goes to Hell sequel.
Much like Jason, The Fiend has now returned from a fiery death, spit back out of Hell with the help of Tom Savini’s team. It only seems right. Take a look at The Fiend’s new look below!
