Chris Pratt-Starring Sci-fi Movie ‘The Tomorrow War’ Coming to Amazon This Summer

Paramount and Skydance had been set to release The Tomorrow War in theaters on December 25, 2020, but those plans of course changed for obvious reasons. During the ongoing pandemic, the film was being shopped to streamers, and we’ve learned today that Amazon has picked it up and will be bringing The Tomorrow War straight to Amazon Prime Video.

The Chris Pratt-starring film comes to Amazon on July 2, 2021.

Chris McKay (The Lego Batman Movie) directed The Tomorrow War.

“The script, with drafts by Zach Dean and Bill Dubuque, is set in a future where humanity is losing a war against aliens. To turn the tide, scientists draft soldiers from the past to fight the war.”

Deadline further details the plot, “The world is stunned when a group of time travelers arrive from the year 2051 to deliver an urgent message: Thirty years in the future mankind is losing a global war against a deadly alien species. The only hope for survival is for soldiers and civilians from the present to be transported to the future and join the fight. Among those recruited is high school teacher and family man Dan Forester (Pratt). Determined to save the world for his young daughter, Dan teams up with a brilliant scientist (Yvonne Strahovski) and his estranged father (J.K. Simmons) in a desperate quest to rewrite the fate of the planet.”

Betty GilpinSam Richardson, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Edwin Hodge, Seychelle Gabriel, Alan Trong, Chibuikem Uche, Alexis Louder and Theo Von also star.
