Exclusive: ‘Saw’ Franchise Star Tobin Bell Leads the Cast of Horror Fiction Podcast ‘The Gloom’ [Trailer]

“It moves inside all of us.”

While we wait to see if Jigsaw makes some kind of return in the upcoming Spiral: From the Book of Saw, franchise star Tobin Bell has joined the cast of the horror fiction podcast The Gloom, Bloody Disgusting has exclusively learned this week.

Produced by horror podcast network Violet Hour Media, The Gloom will release on May 10

The official press release describes, “The eight-part fiction podcast series can be described as The Ring meets Serial and centers around a string of heinous, unsolved crimes committed by a group of teens in the 90s, which compels an investigative journalist to uncover the horrifying truth about a supernatural cover-up tied to her own past.”

The Gloom explores the seedy underbelly of psychiatric institutions and the mental health industry in a faux true crime podcast style. Starring Bell as the depraved Dr. Lasher.”

The Gloom is fundamentally a story about the interplay between fear and power. It explores the consequences of living in a society that rewards and validates power-mad, sadistic authority figures. This 8-part found footage series is particularly relevant in today’s world, and I’m proud to have The Gloom as part of The Violet Hour podcast network,” Executive producer and VHM CEO Cassie Jozefov said in a statement sent to Bloody Disgusting this week.

You can exclusively listen to the show’s audio trailer below!

The Gloom is written by Mike Assip and Pete Lancucki.
