Netflix Prepares for ‘Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness’ By Adding ‘Afterlife’ and ‘Extinction’ Next Month

Not one but two different original Resident Evil projects are on the way from Netflix, with the animated series “Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness” coming in July and a live-action series also in the works. In preparation, we’ve learned today that two of the movies are headed to Netflix.

Both Resident Evil: Afterlife and Resident Evil: Extinction come to Netflix on May 1.

In Paul W.S. Anderson’s Afterlife, “While still out to destroy the evil Umbrella Corporation, Alice joins a group of survivors living in a prison surrounded by the infected who also want to relocate to the mysterious but supposedly unharmed safe haven known only as Arcadia.”

And in Russell Mulcahy’s Extinction, “Survivors of the Raccoon City catastrophe travel across the Nevada desert, hoping to make it to Alaska. Alice joins the caravan and their fight.”

Resident Evil: Extinction is one of my personal favorite sequels in the franchise, for whatever that’s worth, putting Milla Jovovich‘s Alice into a Mad Max-style wasteland.

If you’d rather revisit the films on Blu-ray, you can pick up the complete 6-film Resident Evil collection over on Amazon for just $24.95. All around, it’s a fun zombie-slaying saga.
