Quibi Shows Including Sam Raimi’s “50 States of Fright” Coming Back to Streaming as “Roku Originals”

As we learned earlier this year, the content from failed streaming platform Quibi has been picked up by Roku, who bought exclusive global distribution rights to the entire portfolio.

What this means is that the existing content from Quibi is soon coming to Roku, with shows including Sam Raimi’s “50 States of Fright” being rebranded “Roku Originals.”

Outside of the horror anthology series, Quibi gave birth to The Expecting, a pregnancy thriller directed by American Psycho‘s Mary Harron, and The Hitcher-inspired Maika Monroe/Dane DeHaan-starring The Stranger, among several other genre-adjacent thrillers.

Deadline notes, “Roku Originals will be available on the company’s free, ad-supported destination, the Roku Channel.” This is also where you can find our Bloody Disgusting TV.

“More than 75 originals, including a dozen unreleased series, will stream for the first time on The Roku Channel this year,” Deadline’s report today continues.

Produced by Sam Raimi, “50 States of Fright” received two seasons from Quibi, with nine horror stories told across multiple episodes. Raimi himself directed the premiere.

It’s important to note that Roku hasn’t revived any of Quibi’s projects at this time, but rather Roku will be bringing Quibi’s existing content back into our lives. Stay tuned for more.
