And you thought it was going to be a boring stream. During today’s Nintendo Indie World Showcase, genre fans received several goodies, most notably the news that the hit Sega “indie” shooter classic The House of The Dead will be coming to the Nintendo Switch!
Publisher Forever Entertainment had announced back in 2019 that both the original HotD and its sequel would be getting the remake treatment, with Megapixel Studio handling the development duties. No word on any additional platforms at the moment, but Switch users can expect the HotD to land later this year.
Meanwhile, MWM Interactive and developer Night School Studio announced that their supernatural thriller Oxenfree will be getting a sequel later this year in Oxenfree II: Lost Signals. The game will launch on the Switch and PC via Steam.
Oxenfree II: Lost Signals will feature an all-new cast of characters, and is set five years after the events of the original. The sequel will follow Riley, an environmental researcher who returns to her hometown of Camena to investigate mysterious radio frequency signals causing disturbances in electronic equipment throughout the town. While doing so, she stumbles upon some supernatural happenings.
Lastly, publisher Binary Haze Interactive has announced that their indie title Ender Lilies: Quietus of the Knights (which is currently in Early Access on Steam) will be arriving on the Nintendo Switch on June 22, the same say that the PC version will be out of Early Access.
The v1.0 update and console launches will debut the final five chapters of the game, bringing the total up to eight. The PlayStation 5 version (which will be backwards compatible with the PlayStation 4 version) will arrive on July 6, while the Xbox Series will now be joined by an Xbox One version at a later date.
