“The X-Files”: Special Makeup Effects Artist Shares Previously Unseen Photos from the Set!

One of the many special makeup effects artists who helped bring “The X-Files” to the screen was Geoff Redknap, who worked as a puppeteer, prosthetic makeup effects artist and special makeup effects artist on 50 episodes throughout the show’s run, including “Sanguinarium,” “Leonard Betts,” “Home,” “The Post-Modern Prometheus,” and “Christmas Carol.”

Back in 1998, Geoff Redknap was part of the team nominated for a Primetime Emmy for their work on “The X-Files,” specifically for the previous year’s “The Post-Modern Prometheus.”

Redknap, whose effects can also be seen in various notable films including Final Destination, Jennifer’s Body, The Cabin in the Woods, Deadpool, The Predator, and Terminator: Dark Fate, was recently a guest on the Danish podcast The Conspiracy Podcast, and in conjunction with that interview, Redknap has shared some of his personal photos taken on the set of “The X-Files” back in the 1990s. The behind the scenes photos give us a closer look at the makeup effects from various episodes, also including “Schizogeny” and “Gethsemane.”

Chatting with The Conspiracy Podcast, Redknap describes his run with “The X-Files” as “a three year rollercoaster ride of working 100 hours a week. But… it was incredibly exciting.”

And thanks to Daniel Hartvig Nielsen for bringing these photos to our attention!
