Jurassic World: The Ride has reopened with a surprise: a brand new finale!
The original would take guests on a boat tour that would end with a face-to-face confrontation with the franchise’s iconic T-Rex. The newly updated version would include Jurassic World‘s big bad, the terrifying Indominus Rex, which would peek out of a bush and roar alongside the T-Rex. It was cool, but didn’t add all that much other than tying it directly to the new films (it was always curious that they didn’t replace the T-Rex head with that of an enormous Indominus Rex).
In the fresh upgrade, the Indominus Rex now has a full animatronic body and roars directly over the guests’ heads before snapping at the original T-Rex head. It’s a minor change that has a massive impact, making the Indominus Rex more than just a cheap addition and instead integrating the dino directly into the ride’s actual story.
