We’re still waiting for *someone* to bring Bryan Fuller’s “Hannibal” back to life, but in the meantime, we’ve learned today that star Mads Mikkelsen has set up his next job.
Deadline reports that Mikkelsen will be starring alongside Harrison Ford and Phoebe Waller-Bridge in the new Indiana Jones movie that’s being directed by James Mangold (Logan)!
Steven Spielberg is producing the film, which still has its plot details under wraps. At this time, we also have no details on what character Mikkelsen will be playing in this one.
Currently, the untitled fifth installment in the franchise is dated for July 29, 2022.
Mikkelsen is fresh off the Oscar-nominated Another Round, and he’ll soon be making his way into the Harry Potter franchise when he takes over the role of Gellert Grindelwald for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 3. Mikkelsen of course recently made his way into the Star Wars franchise with Rogue One, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Doctor Strange.
As for the potential return of “Hannibal,” we’ll forever be waiting. And according to recent comments from Mikkelsen, he’s still very much on board for reprising the iconic role.
Never say never, friends.
