In the mood for a little retro PC gaming? Ziggurat Interactive might have the thing for you if you’re looking to take a trip back to 1994 with two releases from Capstone Software in Operation Body Count and Corridor 7, which are now on GOG.com.
Both games use id Software’s Wolfenstein 3D engine, but by the time they were released, they were up against a little something from id called Doom. Needless to say, much like some shooters at the time, they didn’t fare very well.
In Operation Body Count, the United Nations building has been seized by terrorist Victor Baloch. It’s up to you as the leader of an Elite Forces team to defeat the terrorists and free the hostages. You’ll have to traverse through 40 floors, but you’re armed to the teeth with a variety of assault rifles, flamethrower and grenade launcher.
Meanwhile, in Corridor 7, thanks to scientists messing around with an alien artifact, they opened a portal to another dimension, which has resulted in aliens pouring through to murder everyone. It’s up to you to fight your way through the Delta Base research facility and shut down the gate’s power source.
