Filming wrapped last year on Don’t Breathe 2, a sequel to Fede Alvarez’s home invasion film that was directed by Evil Dead and Don’t Breathe co-writer Rodo Sayagues. Stephen Lang will be back as the “Blind Man,” who survived the events of the 2016 movie.
Don’t Breathe 2 brings the Blind Man back to theaters on August 13, and we can expect the marketing campaign to begin soon as the official MPA rating has arrived this week.
Sony’s sequel is rated “R” for “strong bloody violence, gruesome images and language.”
For the sake of comparison, the first movie earned itself the very same rating back in 2016 for “terror, violence, disturbing content, and language including sexual references.”
In Don’t Breathe 2, the Blind Man has been hiding out for years in an isolated cabin and has taken in and raised a young girl orphaned from a house fire.
Their quiet existence is shattered when a group of kidnappers show up and take the girl, forcing the Blind Man to leave his safe haven to save her.
