Netflix Looking to Expand Further Into Video Games

After seeing success with the “Choose Your Own Adventure” stylings with Black Mirror: Bandersnatch and crossover projects like Stranger Things 3: The Game, Netflix is apparently looking to delve further into the melding of TV and video games. According to The Information, Netflix are apparently hiring an executive to further expand into the medium.

According to the article, Netflix has been flirting with an idea similar to Apple’s Apple Arcade subscription service, which provides access to games exclusive to the service. If that’s the case, they’d be up against Microsoft and their Xbox Game Pass service, which is really the de facto “Netflix for video games” at the moment.

When asked by Polygon about the story, Netflix responded that it was “excited to do more with interactive entertainment.” Whether this means that we’ll potentially be seeing more shows akin to Bandersnatch, or more collaborations on video game adaptations of Netflix shows, it’s intriguing either way.
