‘A Quiet Place’ Spinoff Dated for 2023 Release by Paramount!

As we learned last year, a third A Quiet Place movie is already in the works, with Jeff Nichols (Midnight Special) on board to direct a tale based on an idea by John Krasinski.

Tonight, it was revealed that the next installment is actually a “spinoff” and not the third entry in the franchise. In addition, Paramount Pictures has also dated the film for March 31, 2023.

“The pic is very early in development and simply being billed as the next installment, broadening the post-apocalyptic world introduced in the first two movies,” added Deadline.

Nichols is writing and directing, and as suspected, this new movie isn’t a sequel to the first two films but rather a universe-expanding spinoff.

Meanwhile, it’s expected that the Abbott family storyline will become a trilogy as Krasinski has teased ideas for the continuation.

Released in 2018, A Quiet Place was a massive hit for Paramount, introducing a post-apocalyptic world wherein monsters roam free… and if you make a sound, they will find you.

After a year-long delay, A Quiet Place Part II (read our review) kicked off the summer movie season with a whopping $58 million opening over the 4-day holiday ($48.38M over the weekend), nearly matching the first film’s $50M opening that propelled it to a monstrous $340M global total. It continues the storyline from the first movie, starring Emily BluntMillicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe, and is another box office hit.
