With Dying Light 2: Stay Human finally getting a release date later this year, it was about time that Techland started dishing out some of the cooler aspects of the game: the day/night cycle.
“The night is the common enemy for everyone in Dying Light 2,” explains Techland creative director Adrian Ciszewski. “During the day, everyone has their own agenda. You might hate one of the factions. But when night falls, everyone has one enemy: the Infected.”
While humans may be roaming around during the day, at night, the city is overrun with Infected. Staying on ground level is a bad idea, as the Screamers return from the original game to torment you.
It’s not all bad, however, as night will bring opportunities. For example, Infected hang out in buildings during the day, waiting for night to go hunting. Once they do, that’s an opportunity for you to visit these places.
However, it’s made all the more complicated due to your infection level, which rises during the night. You’ll have to monitor that and combat it with injections and food.
Dying Light 2: Stay Human arrives December 7th for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Xbox Series.
