ScreenDaily shares today a first look at Golden Globe Award winner Jonathan Rhys Meyers (“The Tudors,” “Dracula”) in The Good Neighbor, a new Cannes thriller directed by Stephan Rick (The Dark Side of the Moon, The Super), from a script by Rick and Ross Partridge (“Room 104”).
Luke Kleintank (Midway, “The Man in the High Castle”) also stars in the film, which is a remake of Rick’s successful German thriller Unter Nachbarn.
In the upcoming movie, “On a fateful night out, new neighbors David and Robert find themselves bonded by a hit-and-run accident. When the dead girl’s sister shows up to investigate, David, overcome with guilt, wonders if he can find redemption while Robert is determined to bury the past and keep his new friend for himself, no matter the cost.”
Dean Altit (Misfits, Realms) and Yulia Zayceva (WarHunt, Welcome to Mercy) produced. Kia Jam and Igor Pronin executive produce.
Highland Film Group is selling at the pre-Cannes screenings this week.
