Latest Dev Update For Upcoming Vampire Survival Game ‘V Rising’ Explores Art Direction And Design

Stunlock Studios has dropped another developer update for their upcoming vampire survival game V Rising, revealing new concept art and vampire design details with the game’s art director, Johan Wahlbäck. Not only that, but the update has given the devs a chance to answer some of the questions fans have had regarding the game’s atmosphere.

Not many games these days have players assuming the role of the antagonist, which is what happens in V Rising. Your goal in the game is to harvest the humans and satisfy your hunger, but even as the predator, you will have your own obstacles to face in order to survive.

“The oldest and strongest emotion of mankind is fear, and in V Rising, you become the ultimate terror,” explains Wahlbäck. “We want you to feel powerful, but we also want to turn the tables from time to time to amplify the survival aspect of the game. The humans arm up for war, and your first encounter with a vampire hunter might end up with you doing your best to flee. Suddenly the hunter becomes the hunted. When we designed the vampire, we had a couple of key points to achieve.”

At the moment, V Rising is currently building towards a beta later this year. You can sign up for the Beta and newsletter here. You can also wishlist the game on Steam.
