Sci-Fi Survival Horror ‘The Persistence: Enhanced’ Creeps Onto PS5 and PC Today

The Persistence is one of my favorite games on PSVR, and I always felt it was a shame more people couldn’t experience it somehow. Happily, the game got a regular non-VR version on last-generation consoles and now comes to PS5 and PC in better shape than ever with a new ‘Enhanced’ edition.

Out today, The Persistence: Enhanced brings improved visuals, lighting, and particle effects, and the tantalizing prospect of Raytracing, to the rogue-lite survival horror.

In The Persistence, you board a colony vessel in space that has been overrun mutant copies of the ship’s inhabitants. With the ship heading for certain doom, the player must fight their way through the horrifying monstrosities and try to course-correct a landing on Earth by fixing the ship.

The game is available to buy today as a paid download (although boxed PS5 copies will also be available in Europe) but is a free upgrade for existing owners of the PS4, and Steam versions of the game.

Xbox Series X/S owners will have to wait a bit longer, though, as The Persistence: Enhanced has been delayed on those consoles for the time being.
