Stephen King Streamlines “Lisey’s Story” to Startling Effect [The Losers’ Club Podcast]

Beam me up, Scotty: The long-awaited adaptation of Stephen King‘s Lisey’s Story has finally arrived on Apple TV+. Directed by Pablo Larrain (Jackie), the miniseries is even more of an event for Constant Readers seeing how the Master of Horror penned all eight episodes.

At the center of it all is Oscar winner Julianne Moore, who stars as the titular widow tangled in a supernatural web of mysteries involving her late husband: acclaimed author Scott Landon (Clive Owen). On her tail is a deranged fan (Dane DeHaan) with torture on the mind.

Join Losers Randall Colburn, Jenn Adams, Justin Gerber, and Michael Roffman as they review the first two episodes: “Blood Hunt” and “Blood Bool”. Together, they discuss Larrain’s beatific imagery, Moore’s outstanding performance, and King’s streamlined storytelling.
