Koch Media hit Summer Game Fest with news that their new publishing arm, Prime Matter, will be giving horror fans joy with two upcoming titles. The first is a Brass Token-developed third-person action horror game tentatively referred to as The Chant, which will arrive next year for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
The pitch is as follows (thanks, Gematsu): “set on the tormented grounds of a new age cult, that fulfills players’ thrill of supernatural horrors dealing with the dark sides of spirituality and cultism, and untangles terrifying revelations about the universe. While exploring a remote island’s twisted past, you must fight and escape the psychedelic terrors awakened by a spiritual retreat gone wrong.”
The other big news is that the Painkiller series is back! The cult PC shooter has been resurrected by Prime Matter, with it being developed by World War Z team, Saber Interactive. No other info has been released at this time.
