Rob Zombie’s “The Munsters”: Check Out Wardrobe Design Concepts for Lily and Herman!

After sharing a blueprint for his recreation of the iconic 1313 Mockingbird Lane house earlier this week, Rob Zombie has again taken to social media this afternoon to give us another sneak-peek taste of his vision for “The Munsters,” a feature film based on the classic series.

This time around, Zombie shares wardrobe designs for Lily and Herman’s nighttime looks, teasing the sleepwear we may see them rocking in the upcoming movie. Lily is depicted in a tattered, spiderweb print dress, while Herman is wearing black & white striped pajamas adorned with skulls. Herman wore very similar pajamas in the original series, you may recall.

It has been rumored that Sheri Moon Zombie (The Devil’s Rejects, 3 from Hell) and Jeff Daniel Phillips (The Lords of Salem) have been cast as Lily and Herman Munster in Zombie’s upcoming movie, but that casting hasn’t yet been officially confirmed.

For now, this is our first look at Zombie’s take on the beloved characters, which seems to suggest that he’s not looking to entirely reinvent them as “Rob Zombie characters.” There’s very much a classic feel to these concepts, evoking the spirit of the original series.

If you want to revisit the original series, “The Munsters” is streaming on Peacock. That series ran for just two seasons between 1964 and 1966, spawning several feature films and a sequel television series titled “The Munsters Today” (1988 – 1991). Most recently, Bryan Fuller’s “Mockingbird Lane” reimagined the series for NBC, but never made it past a pilot episode.
