One. Knight. Only.
A24 and David Lowery‘s (A Ghost Story) The Green Knight (read Meagan’s 5-star review) is now playing in theaters, with no traditional at-home release currently announced. But if you’re not ready to head back to your local theater just yet, the good news is that A24 has announced today that The Green Knight will be playing at home for one night only this month.
The “A24 Screening Room” presents The Green Knight on Wednesday, August 18 at 9pm EST, and tickets are available now. How does this all work, you ask? Good question…
It’s actually very simple. You purchase a ticket at your leisure through this link, and once you’ve purchased a ticket, you’ll be able to watch on August 18 at 9pm EST through the web, Apple TV, and Roku. In other words, it’s essentially a one-night-only virtual screening of the film, with your ticket purchase unlocking the ability to stream the film at the specific start time.
Tickets are $20 each.
“From visionary filmmaker David Lowery comes a fresh and bold spin on a classic tale from the knights of the round table,” A24 explained The Green Knight last year.
“An epic fantasy adventure based on the timeless Arthurian legend, The Green Knight tells the story of Sir Gawain (Dev Patel), King Arthur’s reckless and headstrong nephew, who embarks on a daring quest to confront the eponymous Green Knight, a gigantic emerald-skinned stranger and tester of men. Gawain contends with ghosts, giants, thieves, and schemers in what becomes a deeper journey to define his character and prove his worth in the eyes of his family and kingdom by facing the ultimate challenger.”
Alicia Vikander, Joel Edgerton, Barry Keoghan, and Ralph Ineson also star.
The Green Knight is rated “R” for “Violence, some sexuality and graphic nudity.”
