‘The Evil Dead’ Celebrating 40th Anniversary With Theatrical Re-Release in October; Tickets on Sale Friday the 13th!

While we wait for new movie Evil Dead Rise, Sam Raimi‘s original The Evil Dead is coming back to theaters this Halloween season, and tickets are up for grabs this Friday, August 13!

The Evil Dead, celebrating its 40th anniversary, will return to theaters nationwide courtesy of Fathom Events and Grindhouse Releasing on Thursday, October 7 at 7:30 p.m. (local time).

“In addition to the terrifying movie that spawned a film, TV, and video game franchise, attendees will be treated to an exclusive introduction from Bruce Campbell.”

Tickets are available for purchase at www.fathomevents.com and through participating cinemas’ box offices. For a complete list of theater locations visit the Fathom Events website.

In the 1981 horror classic…

“Ash (Campbell), his girlfriend Linda (Betsy Baker), his sister Cheryl (Ellen Sandweiss), and couple Scotty (Hal Delrich) and Shelly (Sarah York), drive to a remote cabin in the woods for a fun getaway. While there, they find the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis (aka “The Book of the Dead”), an ancient tome whose text reawakens the dead when read out loud. After unintentionally releasing a flood of evil, the five friends must fight for their lives or become possessed.”
