Biohazard Declassified picked up on a now-unlisted video from the Official Oculus YouTube channel that the beloved Mercenaries Mode will be coming to Resident Evil 4 VR next year. The VR title was released earlier this year, but disappointingly, none of the extra content (including Mercenaries Mode) was included in this version.
According to the video, the mode would arrive sometime in 2022. Capcom has not made any mention of the mode, or any of the extras that have been included in previous releases of Resident Evil 4 (including “Assignment Ada” and “Separate Ways”) being released for the title, which also happens to be nominated for Best VR Game at the 2021 edition of The Game Awards.
But, seeing as the game is nominated this year, perhaps Capcom is waiting to unveil Mercenaries Mode at the show when it airs on December 9th. We won’t know for a few weeks, so sit tight.
Resident Evil 4 VR is currently available exclusively for the Oculus Quest 2.
