With Resident Evil 4 finally having its fan-made remaster complete and out in the wild, where does that leave Silent Hill 2‘s fan-made Enhanced Edition? Still chugging along with a new update, actually.
Wccftech reports that the collection of modding projects are gearing up for a future update that will further improve the look of the PC version, but also fix some lingering issues. The latest info can be found in a new project update video, which you can see below.
For one, rather than going through the tedious process of manually replacing files, the Enhanced Edition will soon have an installation wizard that will automate the entire process. As for the game itself, the next goal for the team is to fix lingering sound issues such as stuttering and repeating sounds, due to how Silent Hill 2 handles its audio files.
In addition, certain objects in the game will also receive 3D models, such as the 2D trees at the start of the game. This is all thanks to a newly-developed user tool by fan Phillip Trudeau that will also allow you to view the game’s models, if you were so curious.
To find out more about the project, you can either hit up the official site, or follow the project’s official Twitter account.
