Daniel Kaluuya Writing Dystopian Thriller ‘The Kitchen’ for Netflix

Daniel Kaluuya (Get Out) will next be seen in Jordan Peele’s new movie Nope, and he’s also signed on to write and produce a dystopian thriller for Netflix titled The Kitchen.

Hailing out of the UK, Deadline reports today that Netflix has boarded the project.

“The pic is set in London, 2044, a future where the gap between rich and poor has been stretched to its limits. All forms of social housing have been eradicated and London’s working classes have been forced to live in temporary accommodation on the outskirts of the city. The story follows Izi, a resident of who is desperately trying to find a way out and 12-year-old, Benji, who has lost his mother and is searching for a family, as they battle to survive.”

Kane Robinson (“Top Boy”) and Jedaiah Bannerman are on board to star.

Kibwe Tavares (Robots of Brixton) will make his feature directorial debut with The Kitchen. Kaluuya will produce via 59% Productions, with Joe Murtagh (Calm with Horses) co-writing.

You can expect The Kitchen on Netflix in 2023.
