Looking much more like a period drama than a horror series, Apple TV+ series “The Essex Serpent” nevertheless centers on a giant sea monster (that may or may not be real), so we figured it was worth bringing to your attention. Tom Hiddleston and Claire Danes lead the cast of “The Essex Serpent,” and Apple TV+ has debuted the official trailer this morning.
A widow, a village vicar, and a mythical beast…are the rumors true? “The Essex Serpent” premieres May 13 on Apple TV+. You can watch the official trailer down below.
“Set in Victorian England, The Essex Serpent follows London widow Cora Seaborne (Danes) who moves to Essex to investigate reports of a mythical serpent.
“She forms an unlikely bond with the village vicar (Hiddleston), but when tragedy strikes, locals accuse her of attracting the creature.”
Frank Dillane, Clémence Poésy and Hayley Squires also star.
The series adapts Sarah Perry’s novel.
