Bloody Disgusting has the first images from The Black Spider, directed by Markus Fischer and releasing in Switzerland this year.
In the film, “Emmental in the 13th century: The brave and rebellious midwife Christine enters a pact with the devil to protect her village from the terror of the Teutonic Knights. But punished henceforth with a spider plague, Christine goes from being the saviour to the hunted. Christine faces the crucial battle against the diabolical power that wants to take away the highest good she is willing to die for: humanity.”
It stars Lillith Stangenberg and Anatole Taubmann.
Described as a Mystery horror film, The Playmaker Munich is handling sales of The Black Spider, which is making its way to the Cannes Market in the coming weeks.
The sales agency hypes that Fischer “has created a vividly gruesome world which brings an eerie demonic force to the big screen.”
