10 Chambers has released a massive content update for their co-op horror shooter GTFO. Rundown 7.0 Rise brings 10 more expeditions to the game, along with new enemies, and a new floral Gardens environment. And for those of you still on the fence about buying GTFO, you’ll have a free weekend with the game from now until June 20th.
If you’re unfamiliar with GTFO, the game has been using a concept called Rundowns, which are regular game updates that add new limited-time expeditions (maps, scenarios, enemies, etc.) that completely replace the previous Rundown. With Rundown 7.0 Rise, players get a completely new environment in the Gardens, contrasting the cold and dark environments that were part of previous Rundowns.
Of course, new environments bring new enemies. Two new enemy types lurk within the bushes, one tentacle-clad, and the other potentially being immortal.
The update also introduces a single player tutorial where players can learn the basic gameplay concepts prior to jumping online with others. The update also includes a range of quality-of-life improvements, such as new sound effects, a more dynamic music system, updated animation, graphical enhancements, and clearer visualization of progression rewards.
“It feels great to deliver one more major update for free to our GTFO community while at the same time being able to invite everyone to try out GTFO during our free weekend on Steam,” said Robin Björkell, Communications Director at 10 Chambers. “To make onboarding a bit easier for new Prisoners brave enough to embark down in The Complex, we’ve added a solo tutorial level that will teach you the basic ropes of GTFO. But don’t keep playing solo; it’s still best to play with friends; work together, or die together.”
GTFO is available for purchase on Steam for $39.99 USD.
