Hayden Panettiere Teases Kirby’s Role in ‘Scream 6’ [Video]

Ghostface returns to theaters with the sixth installment in the Scream franchise next year, and the exciting news there is that Hayden Panettiere will be back as Scream 4‘s Kirby Reed!

A fan favorite character from Wes Craven’s Scream 4, Kirby was thought to be killed off in the 2011 movie, but fans have never given up hope that the horror fan could still be alive. And indeed she is, with Hayden Panettiere officially confirmed to reprise the role in Scream 6.

Appearing on Good Morning America this morning, Hayden Panettiere teased her role in Scream 6, while also revealing how she ended up being brought back into the Scream fold.

“I called them up myself and was like, ‘So, you guys don’t happen to want to bring Kirby back, do you?’ I wanted to be in it that badly,” Panettiere admits in the video you’ll find below.

When asked if Kirby will make it past the opening kill in Scream 6, Panettiere seemed to suggest she most definitely will. She teases, “I don’t think anyone’s going to be disappointed.”

The Scream franchise returns to theaters on March 31, 2023

Scream 6‘s official plot description reads, “The Scream saga continues with the four survivors of the Ghostface killings as they leave Woodsboro behind and start a fresh chapter.”
