Stealth Survival Horror Game ‘Gloomwood’ Surprises With Early Release [Trailer]

After bumping the release of Gloomwood once already, developers Dillon Rogers & David Szymanski and publisher New Blood Interactive decided to do it again. Only this time, they’ve bumped the Early Access release to today!

Yep, ahead of its announced September 6 launch, Gloomwood was released today on Steam as a Labour Day treat. In fact, you can snag the Victorian Survival Horror shooter for a cool 10% discount from now until September 12.

Inspired by the classic stealth-action game Thief, Gloomwood sees you trapped in a Victorian city consumed by an ancient curse. You have to rely on stealth, your wits and your array of weapons to survive. Armed with your canesword, six-shot revolver and more, you’ll be sticking to the shadows as you navigate the city. Much like its inspiration, Gloomwood makes use of a stealth and sound system that tracks your light visibility and propagates sound through the world, so tread lightly.

Gloomwood offers up in-depth player interactivity. You’ll be leaning around corners to eavesdrop on foes, peeking through door cracks, checking the bullets in your firearms and mantling onto ledges. And you’ll have plenty of items at your disposal in order to distract your foes. The city is full of objects to pick up, throw, climb, smash and use to your advantage.
