Latest Trailer for ‘Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania’ Reveals Surprise “Richter Mode” [Watch]

With the release of the Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania DLC coming up fast, Motion Twin and Evil Empire continue to tease fans over what’s in store. Case in point: the final teaser for the DLC brings with it a surprise that hearkens back to the Metroidvanias in the Castlevania series: a secret Richter Mode!

Yep, that’s right. You can play as Richter Belmont in the upcoming Return to Castlevania DLC. In order to do so, you’ll need to find the secret room. Once you do, you’ll unlock Richter, who sports his original moveset from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

Of course, the reveal of Richter is only part of the trailer. Matt Houghton, marketing manager for the Return to Castlevania DLC, goes through how the team at Motion Twin came up with the idea of including Castlevania as a DLC for Dead Cells, all set to some of the team’s renditions of classic Castlevania tunes that (hopefully) will be included with the DLC.

Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania will arrive on March 6 for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

And keep an eye out for that Dead Cells board game on Kickstarter.
