Shudder Delivers a ‘Spoonful of Sugar’ With Latest Original Movie on March 2 [Trailer]

Shudder‘s next original horror movie is Spoonful of Sugar, a cinematic LSD trip directed by Mercedes Bryce Morgan and coming exclusively to Shudder on March 2, 2023.

In the film, “A disturbed babysitter experiences a sexual awakening while using LSD to alternatively treat a seemingly “sick” child from a family with dark secrets of their own.”

The cast includes Morgan Saylor, Kat Foster, Danilo Crovetti, and Myko Olivier.

Mercedes Bryce Morgan is an award-winning queer Latina director. Mercedes just completed her feature debut, Fixation, premiering at TIFF. Mercedes has directed series’ for studios such as MGM, Facebook Watch, Snapchat, New Form, Eko, and Project Greenlight/ Adaptive.

As a screenwriter, Mercedes’ script, B1, made Tracking Board/ Launch Pad’s 2017 Hit List, as well as winning runner up at the 2018 Script Pipeline Competition and BET’s Project Create. Her script, ESC was a 2022 Script Pipeline finalist and a Nichols finalist. Her narrative music video “Happier” (Bastille and Marshmello) was nominated in 2019 for a VMA, and was #1 trending on YouTube in the world the day of its release. She has directed numerous high-profile actors such as Tiffany Haddish, Idina Menzel, Miranda Cosgrove, Hayley Kiyoko, Billy Porter, Madison Pettis, Nathaniel J Potvin, Genesis Rodriguez, Maddie Hasson, and Todrick Hall.
