New “Tinge of Terror” Update for ‘GRIME’ Introduces New Game + Mode [Trailer]

Developer Clover Bite has revealed a brand-new DLC for their Soulslike Metroidvania GRIME during the Guerilla Collective Showcase. Available now on consoles and PC, the “Tinge of Terror” free content update brings a highly-anticipated New Game + mode to GRIME, as well as adding new mechanics for every enemy and boss in the game.

Tinge of Terror arrives after Clover Bite’s previous free update for GRIME, “Colors of Rot”, was released last year. Unlocked after players defeat the final boss, Tinge of Terror‘s New Game + mode for GRIME allows players to carry all their acquired abilities, weapons, and upgrades to a new game, allowing them to fully experience each boss, area, and enemy to the fullest extent. To even the odds, Tinge of Terror gives foes new abilities to mix it up for players in order to make New Game + mode less of a cakewalk.

Rooting itself in the Metroidvania playerscape with its anatomical horror and Soulslike levelling progression, GRIME you play as a humanoid being after having been “squeezed into existence” from unusual material. Born into an alien world, you survive by crushing your foes with living weapons that mutate form and function, and then consume their remains with a black hole to strengthen yourself in a world of “anatomical horror and intrigue.”

GRIME is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam, the Epic Games Store and GOG.
