Geras From ‘Mortal Kombat 11’ Returns in ‘Mortal Kombat 1’ [Trailer]

NetherRealm continues to add to the Mortal Kombat 1 roster, revealing Mortal Kombat 11‘s Geras as the latest kombatant in a new trailer. Interspersed with chatting between Geras and Liu Kang, the trailer shows the Guardian of the Hourglass getting to work putting the beatdown on opponents.

Geras returns in Mortal Kombat 1, utilizing time manipulation and sand with his attacks. We also get a glimpse of Mortal Kombat: Deception‘s Darrius returning as a Kameo Fighter.

It’s not all about Geras in this trailer, however. We also see Liu Kang in action as he and Geras talk of Liu’s decision to restart time, further implying that MK1 is a sequel, rather than a remake. And for those who couldn’t get enough of his first fatality, we get a shot of Liu Kang’s second fatality, which like the his first one, is as over-the-top as it is awesome. It kind of puts Geras’ fatality (which is also shown in the trailer) to shame.

Meanwhile, for those wondering, Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon confirmed that J.K. Simmons will be voicing Omni-Man in the Kombat Pack 1 DLC for Mortal Kombat 1 (thanks, IGN). No word yet on John Cena and Antony Starr doing the same for Peacemaker and Homelander, however.

Mortal Kombat 1 is aiming for release on September 19 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
