Demo for Ruggero Deodato’s ‘Cannibal Tales’ Coming August 7, New Interview Clip Released [Watch]

If you’re eager to delve into Ruggero Deodato‘s final project with developer Fantastico Studio and their Cannibal Tales visual novel game, you’re in luck. Cannibal Tales will finally have a demo available on August 7, and accompanying the news is a brief interview with the late Ruggero Deodato that was recorded before his death in late 2022.

The video features Deodato revealing his insights into his decision to dip into the world of video games with his script, saying that it was “time to complete my circle”. Deodato went on to say that he liked how the project (which was Borneo: A Jungle Nightmare at the time) was progressing, with how the characters were being portrayed, along with the atmosphere.

For those who are in need of a refresher, it was reported back in June that the development on Borneo was being halted due to a lack of funds, and was reworked into a visual novel called Cannibal Tales. The first of the three-part story, The Interview, is set for release in January 2024 on Steam (though the original date was Winter 2023).

It’s not known what the demo for Cannibal Tales will include, but we won’t have to wait very long to find out.
