Ruggero Deodato’s ‘Cannibal Tales’ Closed Beta Coming October 31; New Public Demo Available During Steam Scream Event

Developer Fantastico Studio has finalized their plans for the upcoming closed beta for Cannibal Tales, announcing that the beta will kick off on October 31. The team also dropped a bit more info on the beta, as well as revealed a new art piece involving the game’s antagonist.

The closed beta (which you can sign up for via the Cannibal Tales official site) will take place from October 31, and last until November 7th. This will be different from the public demo that was available this summer, and will give players access to the first two chapters of the game, totaling around 30 minutes of gameplay. Upon completing the demo, there will be a survey asking for player feedback.

This all ties into Fantastico’s aim to have the game out in February 2024. According to the announcement, development is in the “home stretch”, with the final two scenes, save functionality, options, and localization remaining.

And just in case you missed the demo the first time (and are waiting for the closed beta to begin), Fantastico Studio will have an updated public demo available during the Steam Scream: The Revenge event. Steam Scream will take place from October 26th to November 2nd.

Lastly, the team also released a new image of Price, the antagonist of Cannibal Tales, hard at work.

Cannibal Tales is a three-part visual novel adventure game from the mind of Ruggero Deodato, the director of Cannibal Holocaust. The first entry, “The Interview”, sees Helena, a journalist at “Bloody Disgusting” (no relation), determined to get a scoop that will allow her to become a partner at the newspaper. To do so, Helena decides to pursue the mystery surrounding Noah, a young survivor of metropolitan cannibal, Price.

Aiming to unravel the connection between the two of them, and understand why Noah was spared, Helena pursues an interview. During the interview, the player’s morality will be put to the test as the line between good and evil grows increasingly blurred.

Cannibal Tales is currently in development for PC on Steam.
