‘The Home’ – Lionsgate Picks Up Pete Davidson Horror Movie from the Director of ‘The Purge’

The Purge creator and director James DeMonaco is returning to the genre with The Home, a brand new horror movie starring “Saturday Night Live” alum Pete Davidson.

Deadline reports this morning that Lionsgate has closed a U.S. deal on the upcoming film, which was made by Miramax. The Home is expected in theaters in early 2024.

Stay tuned for more as we learn it.

“We went into The Home not knowing what to expect and James and Pete delivered an exhilarating ride of a movie that is pure suspense-filled fun and just plain bonkers. Audiences won’t know what hit them,” said Lionsgate’s Charlotte Koh.

“James and Pete have created an instant horror classic, and we are thrilled to have found the perfect partner in Lionsgate to bring the film to U.S. audiences,” says Miramax’s Thom Zadra.

“Davidson will play Max, a troubled man who starts working at a retirement home and realizes its residents and caretakers harbor sinister secrets.

“As he investigates the building and its forbidden fourth floor, he starts to uncover connections to his own past and upbringing as a foster child.

DeMonaco wrote the script alongside Adam Canto.
