Just when you marked yourself safe from the Sharknado film franchise, Uncork’d Entertainment has now unleashed a storm of their own with Monsternado this week.
Monsternado, which fills a tornado with ALL of the scariest creatures, is now available on Digital platforms. And yes, it’s a real movie. You can watch the trailer down below.
“A tornado, infested with prehistoric monsters, has formed in the Bermuda Triangle, and is making its way towards land. Megalodon, Pterodactyls, Giant Octopuses, Crocodiles, and more attack – now the city must fight to survive against these deadly creatures.”
“Another fantastic film from Tyler James, whose The Loch Ness Monster also releases in November, Monsternado is fun, frightening and brimming with some very cool special effects sequences”, said Keith Leopard, President Uncork’d Entertainment.
Five Latino filmmakers have come together for the horror anthology Satanic Hispanics, which released in theaters back in September. Today, the film is available at home.
The filmmakers, you ask? The list includes Mike Mendez (Big Ass Spider), Alejandro Brugués (Juan of the Dead), Gigi Saul Guerrero (Culture Shock), Eduardo Sanchez (The Blair Witch Project), and Demian Rugna (Terrified), which makes for a killer horror anthology lineup.
“This movie is very special for us,” said Brugués. “The first all-Latino horror anthology, made by some of the best horror directors representing us from all corners of Latin America, and focused on telling our stories. We couldn’t be happier having Iconic Events joining us in unleashing our Latino mayhem on you during Hispanic Heritage month.”
“In the film, police raid a house in El Paso, full of dead Latinos, and with only one survivor: The Traveler. When the cops him to the station for questioning, he tells them about the horrors he’s encountered in his long time on this earth.”
Efren Ramirez, Greg Grunberg, Jonah Ray Rodrigues, Jacob Vargas, Hemky Madera, and Patricia Velasquez star in Satanic Hispanics.
Fresh out of theaters, Bloody Disgusting and SCREAMBOX bring Onyx the Fortuitous and the Talisman of Souls home this week. The film is now streaming on SCREAMBOX!
Additionally, you can rent Onyx the Fortuitous on all major VOD outlets.
Based on Bowser’s viral internet character of the same name, Onyx tells the story of an amateur occultist who learns that sometimes when you raise HELL…you get a little burned.
In Onyx the Fortuitous and the Talisman of Souls, a throwback to the retro fun of the ’80s and ’90s, Onyx is struggling to find purpose with his soul-devouring side gig when he receives a coveted invitation to the mansion of his idol, Bartok the Great. Here, he joins Bartok and his mysterious delegation to raise the spirit of an ancient demon for a once-in-a-lifetime ritual.
The film also stars Barbara Crampton (You’re Next, Re-Animator), Ralph Ineson (The Witch, The Green Knight), Rivkah Reyes (School of Rock), TC Carson (Final Destination 2), Arden Myrin (Insatiable, Shameless) and Melanie Chandra (Code Black).
One of the most charming facets of Onyx the Fortuitous is its commitment to practical effects, specifically its use of puppets to bring demons, ghouls, and creatures to life.
“I always wanted the creatures to be amplified and heightened and not be too grounded because that’s the tone of the Onyx world. There might be an emotional grounding, but everything else is pretty amplified,” Andrew Bowser explains. “But I really didn’t picture all of those characters being puppets until I reached out to Adam Dougherty, the creature designer, to do the Beefy Bad Boy character. He read the script and said, ‘Well, why aren’t they all puppets?’ I said, ‘Well, I don’t know, Adam, because I hadn’t had you read the script yet.’ So he’s the one that said, ‘What if they were all puppets?’ And for the most part, they are.”
An intense hostage situation breaks out on Christmas Eve at a convenience store in writer/director/producer Dan Brown’s feature debut, Your Lucky Day, starring Angus Cloud in one of his final roles. The film was released onto VOD outlets today, November 14.
In Your Lucky Day, “It’s a breath away from Christmas and six strangers have converged at a convenience store: the store owner, a wealthy man, pregnant couple, criminal, and rookie cop. Together, they witness the wealthy man win $156 million in the lottery. At gunpoint the criminal demands the winning ticket. The cop tries to stop the robbery, he shoots first — accidentally killing the wealthy man. In the ensuing confusion, the criminal takes out the cop.
“The criminal persuades the group to join him in a pact. Money for a cover-up. But they have failed to notice that the cop is still alive. The cop contacts his father, himself an ex-cop, who enlists his former partners, to help save his son and steal the winning ticket for themselves. Who will survive? And how far will all of them go to become a millionaire?”
Your Lucky Day stars Angus Cloud, Elliot Knight, Jessica Garza, Sterling Beaumon, Mousa Hussien Kraish, with Spencer Garrett and Jason O’Mara.
Based on his fake trailer from the Grindhouse Double Feature (2007), Eli Roth’s Thanksgiving hits theaters on Friday, November 17, promising a rated “R” bloodbath.
The film, an expansion of Roth’s faux trailer seen in Grindhouse (2007), will be released in theaters worldwide by TriStar Pictures and Spyglass Media Group (Scream).
In Thanksgiving, “After a Black Friday riot ends in tragedy, a mysterious Thanksgiving-inspired killer terrorizes Plymouth, Massachusetts – the birthplace of the infamous holiday.”
The cast for the feature length slasher movie includes Patrick Dempsey, Addison Rae, Jalen Thomas Brooks (“Walker”), Milo Manheim (Zombies), Nell Verlaque (“Big Shot”), Gina Gershon (“Chucky”), Tim Dillon and Rick Hoffman (Hostel).
Roth wrote the script with Jeff Rendell. Roger Birnbaum and Eli Roth are producing.
Godzilla is back in the new Apple TV+ series “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” from Legendary, a small screen expansion on the “MonsterVerse“ that premieres November 17.
The highly anticipated sci-fi drama series will include 10-episodes. In the series…
“Following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco and the shocking revelation that monsters are real, ‘Monarch: Legacy of Monsters’ tracks two siblings following in their father’s footsteps to uncover their family’s connection to the secretive organization known as Monarch.
“Clues lead them into the world of monsters and ultimately down the rabbit hole to Army officer Lee Shaw (played by Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell), taking place in the 1950s and half a century later where Monarch is threatened by what Shaw knows.
“The dramatic saga – spanning three generations – reveals buried secrets and the ways that epic, earth-shattering events can reverberate through our lives.”
Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, Joe Tippett and Elisa Lasowski star alongside Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell.
“Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” is co-developed by Chris Black (“Severance,” “Star Trek: Enterprise,” “Outcast,”) and Matt Fraction (“Hawkeye”). Matt Shakman (“Wandavision”) directs the first two episodes. The project is produced by Legendary Television and Toho Co. Ltd.
