Roguelike Dungeon Crawler ‘HELLCARD’ Leaves Early Access on February 1st

A week after releasing the final Early Access update, developer Thing Trunk has announced that their roguelike deckbuilding game HELLCARD will be leaving Early Access and fully launching on February 1st.

“It’s been almost a year since HELLCARD launched in Early Access,” reads the update from the devs. “During this time we got loads of feedback from the community via the Steam forums, in-game feedback widget, and, last but not least, on our Discord. This feedback was fundamental in balancing the game so that it would pose a fair challenge in both single-player and co-op modes.”

The post continues, revealing that 1.0 will launch with the game’s “largest content update” so far. The update will include a new class in the Tinkerer (which will be detailed at a later time), over 100 new cards and artifacts, full voice-over, outfits, and new mechanics.

Set in the same universe as their 2018 dungeon crawler Book of Demons, HELLCARD sees you and up to three players descend into papercraft-styled dungeons to take on the evil hordes and defeat the Archdemon. What separates HELLCARD from other card games is that in the battles, monster placement actually matters and can be used to your advantage (if you’re up to the strategic challenge). Your team of heroes has its own strengths and weaknesses, each with an ever-growing deck of abilities and equipment to use on the battlefield.
