With the Alone in the Dark remake being bumped to March, it does give Pieces Interactive and THQ Nordic time to show off more of the game. Such is the case with the Digital Deluxe Edition for Alone in the Dark, which will not only allow you to experience the game with a variety of filters, but also throws back to the 1992 original.
As the name implies, the Derceto 1992 costume pack brings back the low-poly versions of Edward Carnby and Emily Hartwood from Infogrames’ original Alone in the Dark, which no doubt get even more bizarre once when paired with actors David Harbour and Jodie Comer voicing the delightfully chunky characters. What’s even cooler is that you can swap these models out on the fly.
That’s just one of the goodies available. As part of the Deluxe Edition, much like we saw with Supermassive’s The Quarry, you can also experience Alone in the Dark with a variety of Vintage Horror Filters. These include the typical sepia film filter (complete with scratches), a film noir filter, a pixelated filter, and a cinematic filter that narrows the aspect ratio.
The extras are rounded off with a Developer’s Commentary that delves into the remake’s work.
THQ Nordic isn’t content with just showing off the Digital Deluxe Edition’s contents. They’ve also posted a new trailer that reveals more of the game’s central location in Derceto Manor, which is home to array of characters, alongside the various horrors you’ll experience in your playthroughs.
Alone in the Dark arrives March 20 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam.
