Retro Horror Adventure Title “Game Within a Game” ‘Tormenture’ Announced for PC [Trailer]

More retro horror gaming is on the way with Tormenture, courtesy of Blasphemous creators The Game Kitchen and developer Croxel Studios. Tormenture pulls a “game within a game” meta that hearkens back to those days after school in the 80s, playing your “not Atari 2600”, but with a far more terrifying experience.

A tribute to retro gaming, Tormenture begins with you having polishing off your homework. You decide to sit down and start playing on your Limbo 2800. But unlike your previous play sessions, the game is not as you remember it. Not only that, but as you play the game, you notice something strange is happening in your bedroom…

A world of pixels and surrealism in which you’ll have to avoid getting trapped, Tormenture will have you venturing into a vast labyrinth, full of mysterious corners to explore. Discover every nook and cranny and solve puzzles as you progress that will test your wits and cunning in the game’s world, and your own. You’ll also face off against challenging enemies and pixelated spirits lurking in the shadows. Every decision you make will influence the outcome of the story, resulting in one of the game’s three different endings.

No release date has been announced as of yet for Tortmenture, though you can wishlist it now on Steam.
