The Rated “R” Director’s Cut of Zack Snyder’s ‘Rebel Moon’ Saga Arrives in August

Zack Snyder’s two-part sci-fi epic Rebel Moon is now streaming in full on Netflix, and we’ve learned this morning that Snyder’s Director’s Cuts of both films are coming soon.

Of particular note, the Rebel Moon Director’s Cuts will be rated “R,” packed with the bloody violence that wasn’t found in the PG-13 versions of the two movies now on Netflix. We’ve been promised “brutal bloody violence and gore, sexual content, graphic nudity and language.”

These new Director’s Cut versions of the two films are now titled Chapter One: Chalice of Blood and Chapter Two: Curse of Forgiveness, and they both arrive on August 2.

Netflix previews, “Delve further into the mythology and madness of Zack Snyder’s epic sci-fi saga in the viciously sexier, bloodier world of Rebel Moon.

“In Snyder’s director’s cut, a peaceful settlement on a moon in the furthest reaches of the universe finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius, and Kora, a mysterious stranger living among the villagers, becomes their best hope for survival. From Zack Snyder, the filmmaker behind 300, Man of Steel, and Army of the Dead, comes Rebel Moon, an epic science-fantasy event decades in the making.

Ed Skrein, Charlie Hunnam, Djimon Hounsou, Doona Bae, Ray Fisher, Sofia Boutella, Stuart Martin, Jena Malone, Staz Nair, E. Duffy, Charlotte Maggi, and Sky Yang star alongside Michiel Huisman, Cary Elwes, Corey Stoll, and Alfonso Herrera.
